Natural Selection

Kinds of selection:
Stabilizing selection- Graph averages out, has X-axis, and can have two Y-axis, and be in the form of bars, lines, or dots
does NOT result in speciation
favors average over extremes (favors average height over extremely short or tall people)

Disruptive selection- Extremes of physical features make a population not be able to reproduce anymore.
Example- Large dogs and small dogs or humans and monkeys…
results in speciation - splitting up of population until members can no longer breed with each other
does NOT favor average
